Early Summer 2025 Progress

Dunnet Bay has completed bridge construction on the east half of the bridge including the sidewalk, traffic barrier, monuments, and latex concrete overlay for the final driving surface over the bridge. Hecker and Company has installed and turned on light poles along Washington St and Aurora Ave. They have also removed the temporary traffic signals at Washington St & Chicago Ave and continue working on the permanent traffic signals at Washington St & Aurora Ave. Arteaga Landscapes & Erosion Control has placed topsoil and sod along Aurora Ave and Washington St to restore landscaping. They have also installed brick pavers along Washington St, including the reinstallation of existing brick pavers to restore Fredenhagen Park on the NE corner of the bridge. Geneva Construction has milled to remove surface for HMA overlay at project limits on Washington St and Aurora Ave. Weather permitting, they are scheduled to pave the remaining polymerized binder on Tuesday, June 24th, apply prime coat to entire project on Saturday, June 28th, and pave final surface on Monday, June 30th.
